Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 August 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Seevil (“Seevil”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and govern your use of the Seevil mobile app and website (together, the “Service”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to use an online service without parental consent) to use Seevil. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. The Service
Seevil is a voice-first language-learning application that uses artificial intelligence to provide lessons, conversation practice, and feedback. It is a learning aid for personal use — it is not a certified course, examination, translation service, or professional advice, and we make no guarantee about learning outcomes, certification, fluency, or exam results.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@seevil.app if you suspect unauthorised use. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms.
4. Licence and restrictions
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own, non-commercial language learning. You agree not to: copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its content; reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or underlying content, models, prompts, or datasets; scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content; use bots or automated means; circumvent usage limits, security, or access controls; or use the Service to build or train a competing product or service.
5. Intellectual property
The Service and all of its content, lessons, materials, software, designs, trademarks, and branding are owned by Seevil or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited licence above, no rights are granted to you. “Seevil” and our logos are our trademarks; you may not use them without our prior written permission.
6. Your content
“Your Content” means the audio, text, and other input you provide while using the Service. You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit, and use Your Content solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service (including generating transcripts, feedback and responses), as described in our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights to Your Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right. Do not submit unlawful, infringing, harmful, or abusive content.
7. AI-generated content
The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate conversation, feedback, and other output. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, or otherwise unexpected. It is provided “as is” for language-practice purposes only and is not professional, certified, legal, medical, financial, or other advice. You are responsible for evaluating and independently verifying any output before relying on it, and you use it at your own risk. We are not liable for any action taken, or decision made, in reliance on AI-generated output.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to: break the law or infringe others’ rights; harass, abuse, or harm others; upload malware or interfere with the Service’s operation or security; misrepresent your identity; or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or data. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
9. Subscriptions, billing and refunds
Seevil offers free and paid plans. Paid subscriptions are sold and processed through the mobile app store from which you obtained the app; we do not receive your payment-card details. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled, and the applicable price is charged to your app-store account at each renewal. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your app-store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled according to the policies of the relevant app store. Prices, plans, and features may change; we will give reasonable notice of material changes to paid plans.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (such as app stores and sign-in providers) and may link to third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see Delete account). We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 5–7 and 12–16) will survive.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any content or AI output will be accurate or reliable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all such warranties. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seevil and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars (US$50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Seevil and its owners, employees, and suppliers from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Seevil is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and to the extent permitted by any mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at support@seevil.app and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally. To the extent permitted by law, any dispute will be resolved on an individual basis, and you and we waive any right to a class or representative action. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide reasonable notice (for example in the app or by email) before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
17. App-store terms
These Terms are between you and Seevil only, not with Apple or Google. The app-store provider is not responsible for the Service or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. To the extent required by the applicable app store, the app-store provider is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you; you must comply with the app store’s own terms of service; and you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a relevant embargo and are not on any prohibited-parties list. Any claim that the app fails to conform to applicable warranty is the responsibility of Seevil, subject to the disclaimers above.
18. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
